Prof SC Jain is a distinguished Mechanical Engineering Educator & Researcher, with specialisation in CAD, Tribology & Robotics.  He is an award-winning academic with five decades of teaching, research, and consultancy in IIT Roorkee and IIT Mandi.  He has developed UG/PG courses, is a reviewer of  top international and national journals, has advised UGC/AICTE/UPSC, and led industry-funded projects with CPCB, DST, ISRO, and BHEL.  Prof SC Jain is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and a member of multiple technical societies.

At IIT Roorkee, he served as Head (Mech. & Ind. Engg Deptt), Dean (UGS), Dean (Admin).  At IIT Mandi, he served as Dean(Infrastructure) and was instrumental in the design and implementation of the project-based BTech curriculum.
